  • How do I order a new prescription?
  • You can mail your new prescriptions to LDI Specialty Pharmacy.

    During business hours, you can call the pharmacy at (314) 652-4121 or toll-free at (866) 516-4121 to speak with a staff member.

    Your doctor can e-scribe or fax a new prescription to us at (314) 652-4126. Please note, certain controlled substance medications cannot be faxed. The paper copy of these prescriptions must be brought or sent to the pharmacy.

    If you are in the St. Louis, MO, vicinity, you can bring your prescription to our pharmacy location.

    Your prescription may be filled with a generic equivalent substitution based on state law, equivalency rating and in accordance with company policy. Please ask a pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Can I order my refills online or setup automatic refills?
  • Because of the extensive clinical care and unique requirements associated with specialty patient care, we require each shipment to be coordinated with your personal care coordinator.

  • What is the Patient Management Program and what does it mean to me?
  • The Patient Management Program is available free of charge and helps to manage your medications, side effects, and overall health by helping to keep you on top of your medications. Participation is completely voluntary and based upon the ability to follow directions and stay on therapy from month to month. You may opt in or out by telling your specialty care coordinator. If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact us at 1-866-516-4121 and ask to speak with a representative.

  • How will my specialty medication be delivered?
  • All specialty medications are shipped via UPS. Certain areas of the St. Louis metropolitan area are eligible for our local courier service.

  • How do I check on the status of my order?
  • If you would like to know about the status of your order, please contact us at 1-866-516-4121 and ask to speak with a representative.

  • How long does it take to receive my prescription?
  • Our standard processing time at LDI Specialty Pharmacy is normally less than 24 hours. This does not include delivery time. If LDI Specialty Pharmacy needs to contact you or your prescriber regarding your prescription, it may delay shipment of medication. If the delay is greater than 48 hours, a LDI Specialty Pharmacy representative will contact you to inform you of the delay. LDI Specialty Pharmacy will work with you, your prescriber and your insurance to ensure you do not go without your medication.

  • Will I receive a reminder call to schedule my refills?
  • As part of LDI’s service program, a specialty care coordinator will call you approximately 5 to 7 days prior to your next needed dose. We will assess current treatment and schedule your next shipment. Three call attempts will be made to help ensure medication compliance. If we cannot reach you, we will follow up with your physician to see if there have been any therapy changes.

  • Why am I asked about my medical history and if I have any allergies?
  • LDI uses this information to ensure that the mediations you are taking are safe when used together.

  • Why was my prescription delivered in a cooler but it is not refrigerated?
  • Keeping your medication at the appropriate temperature during shipping is of high importance. Under extreme weather conditions, a non-refrigerated medication may be delivered in a cooler to ensure that the product stays within the recommended manufacturer guidelines.

  • What is a prior authorization?
  • A prior authorization is a letter from your physician’s office describing why it is necessary for you to take the prescribed medication. LDI pharmacists make sure the drug, dose, directions and quantity are the most effective and safe for your condition.

  • Do I have to be home to accept my delivery?
  • At LDI, we strongly recommend that any specialty medication shipped is being delivered to a location where a recipient is available to accept the delivery. Various delivery locations are available including: work, physician’s office (if permitted), or alternate address where you will be. The only restriction is that it cannot be delivered to another pharmacy for pickup (this would include if your workplace is a pharmacy).

  • What is the difference between LDI Mail-Order Pharmacy and Specialty Pharmacy?
  • LDI Specialty Pharmacy focuses on specialty medications and the clinical care required for disease management, whereas the Mail-Order Pharmacy dispenses medication according to the plans’ mail order benefit. Each pharmacy contains highly trained staff of pharmacists and certified technicians to provide the best personal service for you, but each works with different aspects of prescription management.

  • Why is it important to report any side effects associated with medication therapy?
  • Reporting any potential side effects to either the pharmacist or the physician is a great practice when taking any kind of new medication. Medication therapy can affect each individual differently and side effect can be subtle or extreme, expected or unexpected. Only a clinically trained healthcare professional will know the difference.

  • Is there a way I can save money on my co-pay responsibility?
  • There are various co-pay assistance programs available for a wide range of prescription medication either through manufacturer programs or foundations. As permitted by the plan, our specialty care coordinators actively search for co-pay assistance programs that may benefit you prior to your first shipment, always looking for ways to save you money. Please contact your care coordinator to see if new programs are available.

  • Can I fill a 3-month supply of my prescription?
  • Specialty medications are limited to a maximum of a 30 day supply(unless otherwise allowed by plan).

  • How can I safely dispose of my medications?

    You will be notified by a LDI Integrated Pharmacy Services employee if there is a recall on your medication and given instructions on what to do.
