LDI promotes a low net-cost formulary, in which generics are first in line. The average retail or wholesale price differs widely between generic and brand name medications. Usually generic medications cost about 30-to-50 percent less than their brand name counterparts. In most cases, participants would pay the lowest co-pay available when receiving a generic drug, saving them less than half the price for brand-name co-pays for the same medication.
